The Louisiana Veterans Homes, located in Jackson, La., is seeking dependable and caring Licensed Practical Nurses 1/2/3 to join our team. This role is vital to ensure the care of our veterans. Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi‑state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found.

• Receives and gives change of shift reports.
• Requests stock drugs, medications, and supplies as assigned.
• Administers CPR in emergency situations.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients.
• Gathers information about patient's past and current physical and mental status.

Appointment Type: Probational

Location: This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a LPN 1/2/3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

This is a 12-hour shift with a rotating weekend position. 6:00 am to 6:30 pm Day Shift and 6:00 pm to 6:30 am Night Shift.

This position offers a Premium Pay of $7.00 per hour worked, plus the following Special Entrance Rates:

LPN 1: $19.48/hour

LPN 2: $20.84/hour

LPN 3: $22.30/hour
