This job answers internal/external calls for Security Operations, which average 2-3,000 transactions daily. Answers routine and emergency calls for security assistance, obtains necessary information, dispatches security officers, and notifies on‑duty supervisors. Responds to all emergency situations, all types of Hospital/Clinic codes at any given time, monitors video screens, maintains security log and computer entries; handles all call and on‑call for security and emergency preparedness for the main campus and regional clinics as well as notifications for security incidents and emergency preparedness issues.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently answer calls using the standard company greeting.
  • Solicit and document information needed from callers to determine level of security assistance and dispatch officers accordingly.
  • Respond to all codes/notifications during emergency incidents.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Perform immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher, or related position.
  • International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows‑style applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Good analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong customer service skills.
  • Strong judgment and a good command of the English language, speaking clearly and distinctly.

Environmental Demands

Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. The role involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous medications, or hazardous waste. No occupational risk for communicable diseases.
