Crane Operator, Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Summary : CRANE OPERATOR, CAB; CRANE OPERATOR, GROUND CONTROL; TRAVELING-CRANE OPERATOR. Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (cab- or ground controlled) to lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials, using hoisting attachments, such as hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Operate traveling or stationary overhead cranes to lift, move, and position loads
- Observe load hookup and determine safety of load.
- Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of movement.
- Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Attach load to hook or other crane accessory prior to operating crane.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- MUST have Crane Operator Certification Card (NCCCO) - preferably with LAT (formerly LBC/LBT) and TLL Certifications
- 3 – 5 years of experience operating a crane and heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to comply with all NCCCO / DOT requirements including applicable Medical Card Requirements
- Must be able to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Ability to work safely and comply with the Company’s safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to commit to the Company’s values.
