KeyDuties
- Perform routine mechanical repairs on company/customer equipment including trucks, trailers, tanks, engines, engine components, and subassemblies.
- Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose routine problems with company and customer equipment.
- Repair customer equipment, including brake jobs, wheel seals, lighting repairs, cab repairs, king pin, drive train and suspension, and external engine components such as starting and charging systems, electrical and cooling systems.
- Identify and request parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules.
- Complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.
- Consult with supervisor to ensure accuracy of diagnosis and approval for repair work.
- Provide assistance to maintenance coworkers consistent with skill set as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
- Participate in and promote company safety program.
- Participate in company-sponsored continuing education courses as required.
- Assist or direct lower-level mechanics in completing work assignments as necessary.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Technical degree, certificate, or diploma in diesel engines, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance industry.
- Ability to attach test instruments to equipment, read dials and gauges, and diagnose malfunctions.
- Self-starter, responsible, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Class‑A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferred.
