Grambling State University is currently seeking a fulltime Plumber/Pipefitter to work in the Facilities Management department installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures and piping systems. Two years of experience or training in pipe fitting, steam fitting, or plumbing. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Duties- Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures and equipment such as water lines, sewerage lines, gas lines, steam lines, gas heaters, hot water heaters, water fountains, steam cookers, and water chemical treatment lines.
- Repairs and replaces worn plumbing fixtures. Repairs leaking faucets. Opens clogged drains.
- Perform general preventative maintenance tasks to water heaters and water valves.
- Inspects, repairs, and makes adjustments to piping and tubing connected to steam pumps, air compressors, water pumps, and heaters.
- Other duties as assigned

Work hours are 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Thursday and 7:30 am - 11:30 am on Fridays

This position is eligible for an Extraordinary Credentials or Experience hire rate
