Job Summary
Full performance level maintenance position within the Facilities Maintenance Division of the Sewerage & Water Board. Assignments include pipe fitting, carpentry, meter repair and installation, and repairs to pump systems and stations. Tasks increase in scope as incumbent demonstrates full-range duties.
Responsibilities- Perform skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks including pipe fitting, carpentry, meter, and pump system station repairs.
- Maintain and repair pipe systems, pumps, meters, and associated equipment.
- Complete assigned tasks within schedule and quality standards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license (Commercial driver’s license may be required).
- Twenty-four (24) months of construction or building maintenance experience.
- Or 12 months as a Utilities Maintenance Technician.
- Or 12 months construction or building maintenance as a Utilities Maintenance Trainee II with requisite training in welding, electrical, and/or mechanical fields.
- Letter from appointing authority certifying experience and training in required field.
Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. Residency requirements are waived for all Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans positions vacant and advertised for at least 90 days.
