CDR General Services LLC is seeking an experienced Stick Welder (SMAW) for a full-time, permanent position in Port Allen, LA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in shipyard or dry dock environments, performing structural welding, fabrication, and repairs on vessels, barges, and marine equipment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Perform Stick welding (SMAW) on carbon steel and other materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Fabricate, repair, and maintain structural components, including hulls, decks, frames, and bulkheads.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications.
• Prepare and clean welding surfaces using grinders, cutting torches, and other tools.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality meets marine industry standards.
• Perform welding and repair tasks outdoors, at heights, over water, and in confined spaces as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition.
• Follow OSHA regulations, company policies, and shipyard safety procedures.

• Proven hands-on experience in Stick welding (SMAW).
• Previous shipyard, dry dock, or marine welding experience .
• Strong knowledge of structural welding, fabrication, and repair techniques.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
• Experience working with carbon steel and structural metal components.
• Comfortable working outdoors, in confined spaces, at heights, and around water.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality workmanship.
