ResponsibilitiesThis role primarily involves coaching Sports Performance classes under the direction of the Supervisor, creating an atmosphere of athletic success, and participating in marketing events as needed.
Qualifications EducationRequired – High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology or a related field.
Required – 3 months’ experience with strength & speed training in a high school, collegiate, or professional performance/fitness setting.
Preferred – 1 year’s experience in the same setting.
Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Preferred – Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength & Conditioning Association or an equivalent national certification.
- Computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly.
- Proficiency with Windows applications and Microsoft Excel.
- Good organizational, time‑management, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to lead and coach athletes of all levels and backgrounds.
- Perform a majority of sports‑related movements.
- Foster a fun, competitive workout environment and maintain motivation.
- Communicate workout methods effectively.
- Interact with clients, anticipating needs.
- Knowledge of fitness principles, basic nutrition, and health skills, with a drive to expand training knowledge.
- Knowledge of all training modalities.
- Technical knowledge of weightlifting, speed, and agility movements.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations.
- Coach various workout and training classes tailored to client/group needs; may include teams, small group facility, or personal training.
- Plan and manage group class warm‑ups, instructions, cool‑downs, and related activities.
- Conduct strength, power, speed, agility, movement, and recovery programs while maintaining high energy.
- Build relationships with colleagues, coaches, and athletes.
- Track and report client progress.
- Maintain a safe environment by scaling movements and weights appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness before and after classes.
- Adapt behavior to the specific client population, respecting privacy and communication style.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
