Now Hiring Part‑Time School Bus Driver for Zachary Community Schools - Zachary, LA.
As a First Student Part‑Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students' day with before‑school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required!
We're proud to train you with our industry‑leading technology to help you succeed.
- A split shift, which means an early morning before‑school pickup and an after‑school drop‑off with a few free hours in between.
- A guaranteed shift of 2.75 hours per shift, no working nights or weekends unless you want to.
- Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available.
- $20.49 / hour starting wage.
- Paid Behind‑the‑Wheel Training at $15.00 per hour.
- Guaranteed hours – earn 2.75 hours per shift worked. If you work both AM and PM for a full week you will earn 27.5 hours!
- 4 Paid Holidays per school year – Labor Day, MLK Day, Mardi Gras.

- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus to promote a safe and welcoming environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver's license for a minimum of three years.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). test.
- DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

- Do not have a college degree or high school diploma.
- Have military experience.

- Have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety‑sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
