Overview
Waste Pro is seeking a professional, dependable delivery driver for our expanding portable toilet division in Geismar, Louisiana.
Job SummaryOperate a company service truck and drive to various locations to service, pump, clean portable restrooms or holding tanks. Perform under supervision, with performance reviewed through direct observation of routes and discussion of problems.
ResponsibilitiesReports to:
Route Supervisor, Route Manager, or Operations Supervisor.
- Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement valid for the state in which the position works; clean driving record meeting Waste Pro driving guidelines.
- At least 1 year of previous experience operating a CDL vehicle within the past 7 years.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices; understand DOT and state requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
- Hepatitis B vaccination required.
- Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co‑workers, dispatch, and supervisors.
- Drive a straight truck with tank, observing legal and defensive driving practices.
- Manipulate heavy equipment control levers; follow a designated collection route or work schedule; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; maintain written records and service responses.
- Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 lb between 120–150 lb a day.
- Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 lb from the ground to waist height between 120–150 lb a day.
- Physically able to get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 120–150 lb a day.
- Physically able to bend at the waist and knees between 120–150 lb a day.
- Physically able to work 8–12 hours in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Drivers operate trucks on pre‑established routes, with manual transmission, exposure to vibration, getting in and out of the truck multiple times per day. Qualifications involve emptying portable restrooms using a pump truck, exposure to human waste, and working in a variety of environmental conditions including wide temperature and weather variations. Exposure to noise, vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
