Overview

Waste Pro is seeking a professional, dependable delivery driver for our expanding portable toilet division in Geismar, Louisiana.

Job Summary

Operate a company service truck and drive to various locations to service, pump, clean portable restrooms or holding tanks. Perform under supervision, with performance reviewed through direct observation of routes and discussion of problems.

Responsibilities
  • Safely drive a service truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information.
  • Deliver and return portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, showers, etc., following company servicing guidelines; drain moisture traps, maintain oil level, and empty truck at pump station as needed.
  • Restock paper products, hand sanitizer, soap, etc., in units being serviced.
  • Clean interior and exterior of units, make repairs as needed, and add chemical solution.
  • Provide courteous and expeditious customer service; exhibit a positive attitude towards company, customer, and municipal goals.
  • Answer questions for customers and direct them to contact Customer Service or Dispatch for additional information.
  • Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, complete Safety Lane activity and DVIR daily, and inspect under hood, check under carriage, check fluid levels and air tires.
  • Maintain clean truck and wash exterior weekly; inspect and clean truck under hood, under carriage, and pump gas.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulation‑mandated reports and documents.
  • Perform other tasks as required, such as assisting other routes, attending community events, or delivering bins and/or carts.
  • Responsibility for all people working on vehicles during the designated route.
  • Must comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • May be required to work during emergency situations.
  • Reporting Relationships

    Reports to:

    Route Supervisor, Route Manager, or Operations Supervisor.

    Qualifications
    • Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement valid for the state in which the position works; clean driving record meeting Waste Pro driving guidelines.
    • At least 1 year of previous experience operating a CDL vehicle within the past 7 years.
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices; understand DOT and state requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination required.
    • Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co‑workers, dispatch, and supervisors.
    • Drive a straight truck with tank, observing legal and defensive driving practices.
    • Manipulate heavy equipment control levers; follow a designated collection route or work schedule; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; maintain written records and service responses.
    Physical Requirements
    • Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 lb between 120–150 lb a day.
    • Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 lb from the ground to waist height between 120–150 lb a day.
    • Physically able to get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 120–150 lb a day.
    • Physically able to bend at the waist and knees between 120–150 lb a day.
    • Physically able to work 8–12 hours in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
    Work Environment

    Drivers operate trucks on pre‑established routes, with manual transmission, exposure to vibration, getting in and out of the truck multiple times per day. Qualifications involve emptying portable restrooms using a pump truck, exposure to human waste, and working in a variety of environmental conditions including wide temperature and weather variations. Exposure to noise, vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
