Summary

If you are looking for a place to work that is consistently growing, Waste Pro has the opportunity for you! Waste Pro is looking for a team-oriented, professional and problem-solving driver in our portable toilet division.

Summary of Position

Operates a company service truck and drives to various locations to service, pump, clean portable restrooms or holding tanks. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation of routes and discussion of problems.

Essential Job Functions
  • Safely drives a service truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information.
  • Delivers and returns portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, showers, etc., following the company servicing guidelines. Drains moisture traps, removes oil catch muffler and maintains oil level in pump. Empty truck at pump station as needed.
  • Restocks paper products, hand sanitizer, soap, etc. in units being serviced.
  • Clean interior and exterior of units, makes repairs as needed, and adds chemical solution to portable restroom units.
  • Provides distinguished customer service with a positive attitude toward company, customer and municipal goals.
  • Answers questions for customers and directs them to contact Customer Service or Dispatch for additional information.
  • Performs daily pre and post trip inspections as set forth by Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines. Completes safety lane activity and DVIR daily in accordance with Waste Pro safety lane guidelines.
  • Maintains clean truck and washes exterior weekly.
  • Prepares, maintains, and submits required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents.
  • Performs other tasks as required; assisting other routes, attending community events or delivery of bins and/or carts.
  • Responsible for all people working on vehicle during the designated route.
  • Must comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Employees must attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
    • Employees must keep up to date on current technology appropriate for Waste Pro USA.
    • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
    Qualifications
    • Must have a Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement valid for the state.
    • Requires a clean driving record meeting Waste Pro driving guidelines.
    • At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 years.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
    • Knowledge of refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices, and Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
    • Normal hearing, vision, and body motion.
    • Drive a straight truck with tank observing legal and defensive driving practices.
    • Manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
    • Follow a designated collection route or work schedule.
    • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Maintain written records and service responses.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination required.
    • Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.
    Special Considerations / Physical Work Requirements
    • Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 pounds between 120-150 a day.
    • Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 pounds from the ground to waist height between 120-150 a day.
    • Physically able to get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 120-150 a day.
    • Physically able to bend at the waist and knees between 120-150 a day.
    • Physically able to work 8 to 12 hours in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain and snow).
    Work Environment

    Drives truck on pre-established route, manual transmission, exposure to vibration, gets in and out of the truck multiple times per day. Empties portable restrooms using pump truck. Exposure to human waste. Works in a variety of environmental conditions including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust.
