Job Summary

Designs and develops medical devices and instrumentation by applying engineering principles. Develops product concepts and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other testing equipment. Designs and conducts experiments to test products under development and performs detailed analysis of experimental results. Plans and executes all phases of new product introduction (NPI), including product design, prototyping, material specifications, production tooling, and fixtures.

Works closely with cross functional team members such as quality assurance, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and human factors engineers to ensure compliance with FDA regulations and internal policies and procedures. Applies basic knowledge of engineering techniques and standard practices. Assists more senior engineers with tasks and assumes responsibility for technical projects or portions of larger projects when assigned. Maintains complete records and documentation required for project completion.

Actively participates in team meetings, contributing ideas and suggestions on new projects or improvements to existing processes. Interacts with suppliers, vendors, and contract manufacturers regarding parts and components procurement. Reports directly to Engineering Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail oriented; strong organizational skills
• Understanding of mechanical engineering concepts
• Willingness to travel 5% of time

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Solid Works CAD program
• Familiarity with injection molding and machining processes
• Understanding of medical device industry requirements
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $73,300.00 - $ USD Annual and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications.
