Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead product development for minimally invasive surgical devices. This role involves designing electro-mechanical systems, developing prototypes, executing engineering protocols, and supporting design transfer to manufacturing. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with hands‑on execution in a regulated environment.

• Lead the design and development of electro‑mechanical systems for minimally invasive surgical devices.

• Create and revise detailed engineering drawings and models using Solid Works and GD&T to meet tight tolerances in a regulated environment.

• Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency; collaborate with vendors on tooling requirements.

• Drive the design process from concept through clinical trials, ensuring compliance with ISO and IEC standards.

• Incorporate risk controls into design decisions and documentation.

• Support design transfer to manufacturing.

• 7 years mechanical design experience in regulated industries, with a strong preference for medical devices.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Advanced expertise in Solid Works and GD&T.

• Proven experience in design for manufacturing, tooling/fixture design, and manufacturing support.

• Strong understanding of materials, mechanics, and tolerance analysis.

• Ability to manage projects and interface with cross‑functional teams and vendors.

• Experience in new product development for medical devices.

• Knowledge of risk management integration in design.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, CO.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 – $65.00/hr.
