Mental Health Tech-Day Shift--Part-Time

Responsibilities

Centennial Peaks Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Denver‑metro area for more than 30 years. Located in beautiful Louisville, CO, our 104‑bed facility offers a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness, including chemical dependency. We provide unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults, supported by a seasoned nursing department. Our hospital offers Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

The Mental Health Tech (MHT) creates a safe environment for patients, observes and records patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, and reports this information to the nursing team. The MHT saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new coping tools. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups, and activities of daily living.

This role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Shift

Hours:

Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Each shift is expected to include alternating weekends.

Shift Differential Eligibility: Weekend Day (Sat‑Sun) $2 / hr, Evening (Mon‑Thurs) $3.25 / hr, Weekend Evening (Fri‑Sun) $5.00 / hr, Night (Mon‑Thurs) $5.00 / hr, Weekend Night (Fri‑Sun) $7.00 / hr. Must work three and a half hours into a shift to qualify for shift differential.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One‑year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationship processes, age‑specific growth and development, limit‑setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred or ability to learn.
