IT Systems Engineer, Operations (Entry Level) – Join Sierra Space to design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud solutions.
About the RoleThe IT Systems Engineer I focuses on building and sustaining the foundation that powers Sierra Space’s mission-critical operations. Key responsibilities include designing, deploying, and maintaining servers, storage, networking equipment, and cloud-based solutions; monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues; implementing IT security measures to protect data and systems; providing technical support to end‑users; collaborating on IT policies and procedures; maintaining documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures;
evaluating and selecting new technologies; performing routine maintenance such as software updates, backups, and system monitoring; managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls; and supporting disaster recovery planning and execution.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 0‑2 years of entry‑level experience.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or macOS.
- Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Understanding of IT security principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain procedures in writing or verbally; good phone skills.
- Strong learning ability, ability to follow instructions, and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to locate and manage shared resources (e.g., print queue, network file system).
- Previous experience in customer support, computer operations, system administration, or a related area.
- Interest in structured approaches to system configuration management.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and motivation to advance in the profession.
- Experience with inventory management platforms like Jira Asset Management, JSM, SCCM, or Intune.
- Strong analytical skills with experience creating reports using tools such as Excel.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Power Shell, Bash, or Python.
- Knowledge of A/V technologies and best practices for deployment and maintenance.
- Experience with automation tools for streamlining IT and inventory workflows.
- Experience with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
- Certifications in relevant areas such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security.
Pay Range: $67,430.00 – $92,716.25. Base compensation will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
