We are looking for a Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) Manager, North America, to join our Global QEHS team s role will be based out of our Louisville, Colorado facility. As the QEHS manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the QEHS Management System and implementing Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives across North America.

The QEHS Manager ensures compliance, drives continual improvement, and aligns with Vaisala's global practices. You'll promote a unified approach to quality and safety, adapt to regional requirements, foster a culture of proactive risk management and quality assurance. This is a hybrid position.

What's your role?

You will be part of our Global QEHS team, made up of dedicated professionals. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across all business areas and will report to the global QEHS function with a dotted line to the Vice President of NA.

  • Develop and implement consistent QEHS standards that meet Vaisala's global requirements while addressing local needs across multiple sites.
  • Align and manage local QEHS documentation with global systems and standards.
  • Manage the annual internal audit plan, conduct audits, and support corrective actions. Coordinate external audits and supplier audits as needed, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Create and deliver training programs on QEHS requirements, promoting continual improvement and lean initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, track corrective actions and analyze trends to recommend safety and quality improvements.
  • Facilitate collaboration by building a regional network of QEHS roles and coordinating local Safety Committee and Green Team meetings.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for QEHS matters in the Americas, supporting customer inquiries and complaint handling for local key customers.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality regulations, including annual regulatory self‑assessments and incident reporting.
  • Report EH&S KPIs and maintain OSHA records for work‑related injuries.
  • Additional reporting to and guidance from the Vaisala Inc. president on quality and safety matters.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and collaborate with site managers across Vaisala Inc. locations.
What will you bring?
  • Collaborative spirit and solution‑oriented attitude. Ability to work independently with local team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in quality and EHS management within an industrial or technical environment.
  • Required:

    Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
  • Preferred:
    Quality Management Certification.
  • Expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards, and familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and auditing skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and ability to ensure compliance with city, state and federal regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, managing corrective actions, and driving continual improvement.
