Summer Expedition Camp Instructor – Avid4 Adventure
Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles for over 20 years. We’re looking for an energetic, caring Summer Expedition Camp Instructor to guide participants through multi‑day outdoor adventures in Colorado or California.
Base Pay Range- Colorado Expeditions: $605–$726 per week (dependent on experience)
- California Expeditions: $822–$984 per week (dependent on experience)
- Specialist bonuses: $100–$400 per certification (up to $1,000 for multiple certifications)
- Hourly rates determined by position, responsibilities, certifications, and tenure
- Work schedule:
Sunday 7 am – Friday 6 pm; scheduled off Friday evenings & all day Saturday - Training:
Colorado May 16–June 5; position depends on location - Expedition duration:
Colorado June 7–August 8;
California June 14–July 31 - Position duration: one summer season (approx. 8–10 weeks)
- Transport: up to 13 campers per day via company vans
- Guide a 5‑night overnight experience, from Sunday to Friday each week
- Provide 24‑hour support, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities
- Co‑lead daily outdoor programming (backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUP, Leave No Trace)
- Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure safety and wellbeing
- Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities
- Provide exceptional customer service to parents and participants
- Assist in transporting campers with company passenger vans
- Specialists may serve as program area experts (climbing, mountain biking, whitewater paddling, survival skills)
- Age 20 or older (Driver position required for most roles)
- 1+ years of experience leading multi‑day camping or backpacking trips with kids Comfortable with 24‑hour supervision expectations
- Certified CPR and either Wilderness First Responder, EMT, or Wilderness First Aid (position specific)
- Specialized certifications eligible for end‑of‑season bonuses ($125–$400 per certification)
