Audit Senior Associate

Overview

Harding Shymanski & Company, PSC is currently seeking an Audit Senior Associate with a minimum of 2-5 years of comprehensive audit accounting experience, including recent public accounting experience, for our Louisville, Kentucky offices. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package, salary commensurate with experience, and challenging assignments. The office is based in Louisville, KY, with some expanded hours required during tax season.

• Perform audit, review, compilation or accounting procedures as assigned by supervisors
• In-charge audits, including planning, directing fieldwork and supervising staff
• Document understanding of accounting systems and transaction flows, review and test internal controls
• Understand basic business environment and perform basic analytical procedures
• Prepare financial statements and footnotes
• Prepare working trial balance and adjusting journal entries
• Maintain property and equipment records, and calculate depreciation and amortization
• Prepare and reconcile account schedules as required
• Perform year-end inventory observations
• Demonstrate effective project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance deliverables and service
• Develop relationships with engagement-related clients and maintain contact with clients throughout the year; possess knowledge of the client and the client’s business

• CPA certification is a plus but not required
• Bachelor degree in accounting
• 2-5 years of comprehensive audit accounting experience, including public accounting experience
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Capable and motivated to provide our clients with excellent timely service
• Efficient project management skills, including multi-tasking by managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and co-workers
• Flexible and willing to work additional hours when required
