Manufacturing Accountant

Position Overview

Experience with cost accounting and a solid organizational, communication, problem‑solving and research abilities. Our client also seeks strong technology expertise, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

• Analyzing actual costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
• Conducting physical inventories and monitoring cycle count program
• Establishing standard costs and updating them as appropriate
• Conducting inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generating reports for senior management
• Reviewing overhead rates and labor rates used for standard costing
• Partnering with operational management to improve controls, accuracy and quality
• Analyzing and reporting on inventory variances of raw materials and finished goods
• Maintaining and updating the cost accounting system and ensuring accuracy of standard costs
• Supporting month‑end close responsibilities; participating in year‑end close and financial statement preparation
• Analyzing and recommending cost‑saving opportunities

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
• Minimum of 2+ years experience in accounting and cost accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
