About the Role:
We are a growing manufacturing company in the flexible plastic packaging industry, seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist. This on-site role is central to our financial operations, managing the full cycle of vendor payments and customer collections. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a solid background in accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
- Manage accounts payable: verify vendor details, review purchase orders, resolve discrepancies, and facilitate timely payments.
- Manage accounts receivable: prepare and submit customer invoices, record payments, and maintain accurate customer files.
- Reconcile financial reports with account balances and general ledger entries.
- Monitor for outstanding obligations, payment discounts, and initiate stop-payments as necessary.
- Proactively manage collections by contacting delinquent accounts and drafting related correspondence.
- Reconcile monthly statements and assist in generating billing reports.
- Handle petty cash disbursements and documentation.
- Calculate and report sales tax.
- Perform other related accounting duties as assigned.
- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting. - Required:
2-5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment. - Preferred:
Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification. - High degree of discretion and ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and proficiency with accounting software.
