Job Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly organized CPA to join our team. This key role focuses on reviewing and filing prepared tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. Success in this position requires a deep understanding of accounting/tax processes, commitment to compliance and operational excellence.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Duties & Responsibilities- Serve as a liaison with external vendors, software providers (e.g., Canopy, Thomson Reuters, Red Tail, etc.) and internal stakeholders.
- Support Tax Team in document preparation and engagement letters.
- Prepare, review and file client’s federal, state and local tax returns.
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
- Document and enforce firm policies and procedures in alignment with Federal and Kentucky regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Experience and Operating Manager.
- Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and team‑building skills. - Technical Proficiency:
Advanced in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with tax platforms (Thomson Reuters) and CRM systems (Red Tail, Canopy). - Accounting Knowledge:
Strong grasp of accounting principles, tax forms, engagement letters and document controls. - Confidentiality & Compliance:
Demonstrated discretion managing sensitive client data and firm records. - Organizational
Skills:
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, with superior follow‑up capabilities.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. - Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting.
- Experience in managing high volume returns (600+).
- Primarily office‑based; prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.; reasonable accommodations available per ADA.
- Standard business hours, with extended hours during peak tax seasons.
