Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a long-term contract position ideal for professionals with a strong background in corporate tax and financial accounting. The role involves ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with tax regulations, while contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization's accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with current regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and related documentation.

- Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

- Analyze financial data and generate reports for management review.

- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

- Collaborate with other departments to address accounting-related inquiries.

- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and accounting standards.

- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax and financial accounting.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.

- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns.

- Demonstrated ability to manage journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
