Easy Street Solutions is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Tax Preparer to assist clients with the preparation of accurate and timely federal, state, and local income tax returns. The Tax Preparer will work directly with clients to gather and review tax documents, identify missing information, prepare returns, and help ensure each return is complete and compliant with applicable tax laws and filing requirements.
The ideal candidate is professional, organized, comfortable working with confidential financial information, and committed to providing excellent client service.
Prepare federal, state, and local individual income tax returns.
Prepare or assist with Schedule C returns for self‑employed individuals and small‑business owners.
Review W-2s, 1099s, business income and expenses, and other supporting tax documents.
Conduct thorough client interviews to obtain information necessary to prepare accurate returns.
Identify missing or inconsistent information and communicate with clients regarding additional documentation needed.
Apply applicable deductions, credits, filing statuses, and other tax provisions based on information provided by the client.
Perform due diligence as required for applicable credits, deductions, filing statuses, and dependents.
Review completed returns for accuracy before submission for final review.
Maintain organized and complete client files and documentation.
Protect the confidentiality and security of client tax and financial information.
Communicate professionally with clients by telephone, email, portal, or in person.
Provide clients with general explanations regarding their tax returns and filing process.
Stay informed of relevant federal, Kentucky, and local tax changes and procedures.
Follow Easy Street Solutions’ policies, procedures, workflows, and quality-control standards.
Assist with prior-year tax returns and amended returns when assigned.
Escalate complex tax issues or situations requiring additional research or review.
Perform other tax-season administrative duties as needed.
