A Louisville/Metro certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection shop is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of commercial construction projects and ensuring that bids are submitted on time. The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial construction estimating, be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to work well under pressure.
GeneralResponsibilities
- Accurately estimate the cost of commercial construction projects.
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
- Create and submit competitive bids on time.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Evaluate and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities associated with each project.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential project details for accurate estimations.
- Prepare reports detailing the cost for individual projects.
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure the accuracy of estimates and bids.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information for estimates.
- Keep up to date with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field. (Will consider experience over degree).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
