Position DescriptionThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health at University of Louisville School of Medicine values a culture of diversity and inclusion and is seeking a full-time academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology to join our team. The U of L Department of Ob‑Gyn and Women’s Health is comprised of 18 full-time physician faculty with representation of board-certified subspecialties of MFM, Gyn‑Onc, and FPMRS and members with focused practice in MIGS and Advanced Family Planning. Our team also includes 2 CNM and 3 women’s health NP.
The department has a strong residency program of 24 residents that actively participate in section activities during their training. Current fellowship programs include FPMRS, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. The Generalist Division provides complex obstetrical care to a diverse population with support from our MFM colleagues. We teach a steady stream of bright learners from Kentucky and beyond.

Responsibilities- Primary responsibilities for this physician educator include: direct patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and collaborating with other faculty in clinical research, quality and safety, and academic projects.
- 2‑3 days per week in resident and private clinics
- 1 day per week labor and delivery coverage
- 1 day per week gynecologic surgery
- 4 in‑house night (14h) or weekend (12 hour) shifts per month post‑overnight shift off.
Interest/experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: clinical research; robotics; minimally invasive surgery; family planning; chronic pelvic pain; sexual dysfunction; and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health.
