Substitute Instructional Assistant (Classroom Assistant)
Now accepting applications for the 2025/26 school year.
Positions available for K-12, Early Childhood, Exceptional Childhood Education (ECE).
Hourly Rate: $16.13/hour (no benefits)
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Demonstrated competent language skills
- Successful experience working with children, individually or in groups, including ability to read and understand meanings of words and ideas associated with them and to use them effectively
- Participation in program training as specified by the Kentucky Department of Education and local district
- Program specific certifications/training
- Effective communication skills
- Criminal Records Check (instructions for CRC will be sent by JCPS Substitute Center)
- Child Abuse & Neglect Check (instructions for CAN will be sent by JCPS Substitute Center)
- TB Test Results (within 1 year)
- Physical (within 1 year)
- Official Transcripts or High School Diploma
- Successful completion of the JCPS Substitute IA Online Orientation
