Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Educator
- Pediatric Services provides support for all pediatric clinical educators and partners with the director to ensure educational plans, implementations, and evaluation meet the needs of student/staff hired in the Pediatric departments for Norton Healthcare. This individual works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care teams to evaluate education needs, and is responsible for assessing and coordinating competency and skills related to clinical specialty.
The Clinical Nurse Educator
- Pediatric Lead utilizes age-appropriate principles of learning and growth in the development and planning of education and provision of patient care. The educator s role calls for skill in teaching and supervision. This individual acts in a leadership role and functions as a resource liaison between all Norton Healthcare hospital-based facilities that serve the pediatric population. The Pediatric Lead assists with the onboarding and mentorship of new pediatric clinical nurse educators.
This individual needs to be a clinical expert of their specialty and an innovator of new concepts applicable to specialty services and adult learning strategies. The individual is also responsible for staff CEU and classroom didactic education and serves as a role model teacher/advisor for caregivers.
Required:
- Three years of clinical nursing education experience.
- Bachelor Degree
- Registered Nurse
