Position Summary
Join a talented team of engineering professionals at Vogt Power International Inc. Vogt is based in Louisville, KY and specializes in the design, manufacture and supply of equipment and solutions to the power generation industry. We are an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with both domestic and international customers. The Structural Engineer works as part of a multi‑discipline project team to develop the structural design for HRSG projects.
The Structural Engineer’s role is responsible for collaborating with other disciplines to create custom structural designs for new large capital projects as well as field retrofits.
- Perform engineering analyses using a combination of hand calculations, spreadsheet programs, and advanced analysis tools.
- Provide leadership by learning, developing, and coordinating new techniques, standardizing procedures, and providing technical instruction and mentoring to department staff.
- Provide organized and well‑written reports to describe assumptions, steps taken, and results from work performed.
- Work directly with the Design group to create accurate and efficient structural drawing packages.
- Monitor the work of fabricators by performing technical reviews.
- Identify, develop, and use tools and techniques that improve the accuracy and/or efficiency of department and project work.
- Develop designs that increase the ease of fabrication, transportation and construction of our product.
- Provide recommendations and promote development of new products, keeping abreast of industry advancements and needs.

Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge And Abilities- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to problems.
- Comfortable using structural analysis software such as Autodesk’s Robot Structural Analysis or Bentley’s STAAD.Pro.
- Familiarity with Autodesk applications such as AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to travel when required.
- Preferred:
Licensed Professional Engineer. - Preferred:
Master of Engineering with emphasis in structures. - Preferred:
Proficient with Autodesk Revit.
The base pay range for this Structural Engineer role is $77,750 – $106,750 annually.
