Senior Mechanical Engineer

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on advanced construction projects across the country. The role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities, supporting estimates, bid analysis, and system design.

• Lead mechanical, electrical and field construction activities, ensuring quality and schedule compliance.
• Collect and assemble project data, develop budgetary M/E estimates using M&E estimating systems.
• Perform systems analysis, recommend value engineering solutions, and coordinate with subcontractors during bid process.
• Review and approve mechanical and electrical options, shop drawings, and procurement scopes.
• Perform job inspections to verify compliance with specifications and safety/quality standards.
• Develop and maintain pre‑functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and commissioning plans.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field (required).
• 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Office and construction M/E tools and software.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction management methods and safety/quality programs.

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
