Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Civil EIT Coordinator, you'll be responsible for:
- Applying design, engineering, and modeling techniques under the guidance of project engineers for transportation and water resource projects for local municipalities, state, and federal clients.
- Working independently on small projects or assisting senior engineers on larger projects.
- Conducting site studies, site designs, preparing contract documentation, and graphic presentations. Developing civil design drawings using BIM/CADD platforms.
- Performing hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and calculations.
- Preparing drainage maps and stormwater management facility designs.
- Creating construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Investigating flooding complaints and assisting with report and memo writing.
- Conducting water quality assessments and floodplain impact and compensation calculations.
- Evaluating bridge hydraulics and scour, and preparing cost opinions and technical documents.
- Supporting infrastructure construction phases.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain within six months. Candidates hired without their EIT will be designated as Hydraulics Coordinators and are expected to obtain EIT for career progression.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-motivated with a desire to complete tasks and learn new skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work in an office setting for collaboration.
- Experience in drainage design for highway/roadway projects, including plan and specification preparation and permitting.
- Local candidates are preferred.
