This position is for a full-time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project, which includes our Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segment groups (MSG).

Reports to

Project Superintendent, Project Manager or MEP Manager

Responsibilities
  • Lead, direct, and coordinate the work of subcontractors and/or Turner trade labor with regard to the Mechanical and Electrical systems included in the project.
  • Ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to budget.
  • Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, interns, and trade labor.
  • Make decisions related to performance of work: scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Manage communication among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation.
  • Resolve local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule.
  • Manage overall site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
  • Develop and evaluate Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns, including performance appraisals.
  • Ensure adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Create schedules and determine sequencing of work; develop and implement recovery strategies.
  • Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues, investigating and resolving them.
  • Manage billing process: monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, subcontractor payment applications.
  • Ensure installation complies with approved contract documents.
  • Coordinate systems with Engineer for all mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and piping layouts for all trades on a master coordination set of drawings and 3D model.
  • Lead project inspections, startup, commissioning, turnover, training processes, and punchlist required for acceptance and handover.
  • Direct and monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, codes.
  • Review project changes with Project Engineer.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of MEP trade contractors' work progress.
  • Participate in preconstruction efforts (constructability, logistics).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience required, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of building construction, methods, scheduling, cost control procedures, general contract, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
  • Specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its use in coordination of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb stairs, use construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required include close, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Environment

The job regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Noise level is moderate to very loud.
