At GE Appliances, a Haier company, we come together to make “good things, for life.” As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Sr. AME) on our Nexus Horizontal Axis Washer Team, you’ll play a key role in bringing new product introductions (NPI) to life. You’ll lead large-scale equipment and process projects that drive innovation, efficiency, and world‑class manufacturing performance across our operations.

How You'll Create Possibilities- Lead major capital equipment projects—from concept and specification to supplier selection, installation, and qualification—ensuring every piece of equipment delivers maximum performance and reliability.
- Partner with global and cross‑functional teams in design, lean, quality, EHS, procurement, and operations to support new product introductions.
- Define and manage key program metrics including labor planning, capital budgets, and in‑house product quality.
- Develop and optimize assembly and metal fabrication processes that support one‑piece flow, balanced lines, and in‑line quality.
- Ensure equipment and tooling designs follow GE Appliances standards, supporting Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP) and Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCI).
- Mentor and support less experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineers, helping grow future talent.
- Collaborate with automation and robotics engineers to implement innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA),
GD&T integration, and Lean improvements to achieve world‑class operations. - Prioritize safety by working with EHS teams to ensure all processes and equipment protect the health and well‑being of our people.
- Support factory teams in implementing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving new systems and equipment.
- BS degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years hands on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes
- 3+ years’ experience managing capital equipment procurement projects, including specification development, equipment supplier selection, technical reviews, installation and qualification of equipment
- Prior experience with packing equipment and robotic automation is strongly preferred
- Ability to work in large cross‑functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members)
- Good communication skills – will be expected to provide program report outs to cross‑functional team
- Ability to make decisions and willingness to take ownership of complex projects
- Experience implementing assembly equipment and conveyance for high volume operations.
- Automation integration
- Experience with implementing Lean process improvements in a manufacturing operation
- Prior NPI program experience
- GD&T knowledge and experience
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent) and AutoCAD
- This position is primarily based in Louisville, KY, but requires travel to other locations as needed. The primary work schedule is the 1st shift; however, occasional support during weekends, 2nd, and 3rd shifts may be necessary.
- Travel is required approximately 25% of the time to assist remote sites.
