OverviewJoin a talented team of engineering professionals at Vogt Power International Inc. Vogt is based in Louisville, KY and specializes in the design, manufacture, and supply of equipment and solutions to the power generation industry. We are an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with both domestic and international customers.
The Structural Engineer works as part of a multi‑discipline project team to develop the structural design for HRSG projects. The role involves collaborating with other disciplines to create custom structural designs for new large capital projects as well as field retrofits, and leading design developments and improvements to enhance overall product effectiveness.
Responsibilities- Perform engineering analyses using a combination of hand calculations, spreadsheet programs, and advanced analysis tools.
- Provide leadership by learning, developing, and coordinating new techniques, standardizing procedures, and offering technical instruction and mentoring to department staff.
- Prepare organized and well‑written reports describing assumptions, steps taken, and results.
- Work directly with the Design group to create accurate and efficient structural drawing packages.
- Monitor fabricator work through technical reviews.
- Identify, develop, and employ tools and techniques that improve accuracy and/or efficiency of departmental and project work.
- Develop designs that enhance the ease of fabrication, transportation, and construction of our product.
- Provide recommendations and promote the development of new products, staying abreast of industry advancements and needs.
- Ensure ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to problems.
- Proficient with structural analysis software such as Autodesk’s Robot Structural Analysis or Bentley’s STAAD.pro.
- Experience with Autodesk applications such as AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Preferred but not required:
Licensed Professional Engineer;
Master of Engineering with emphasis in structures; proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
The base pay range for this Structural Engineer role is $77,750 – $106,750 annually.
