Role DescriptionArcadis is seeking a mid‑level GIS Analyst to join our Energy Transition team. The role supports our expanding Siting and Routing business across the Midwestern and Eastern United States, working with existing siting and GIS teams to serve clients in power generation, transmission, oil and gas, and renewable energy sectors. The ideal candidate has experience leading GIS efforts for environmental planning, permitting, and linear routing and siting, with strong spatial data management skills using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
RoleAccountabilities
As a GIS Analyst you will:
- Lead GIS support for environmental planning and permitting projects, focusing on siting and routing.
- Conduct routing and siting studies, author technical siting reports, and assist with state Public Utilities Commission (PUC) siting applications.
- Support public outreach efforts and collaborate with outreach and permitting teams.
- Apply advanced ESRI products and best practices to deliver high‑quality GIS products on multiple concurrent tasks.
- Prioritize and advance data management standards, client templates, and GIS best practices.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to onboarding and training of siting and GIS personnel.
- Partner with business development and account leaders to grow existing and new client relationships, including proposal development and cost estimates.
- Engage regularly with ecologists, cultural resource specialists, planners, engineers, senior technical experts, and project/program managers within an interdisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, GIS, engineering, biology, ecology, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience as a GIS Specialist in environmental consulting.
- Expertise with ESRI products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Field Maps.
- Proven success leading siting and routing projects for large infrastructure, such as electric transmission lines and substations.
- Experience developing, managing, and maintaining web map services and applications for internal and external clients, including the public.
- Ability to lead GIS projects, manage timelines, and ensure rigorous quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) of project data.
- Strong consulting skills, including client relationship management and providing project scoping and proposal support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting state PUC filings in the Midwestern and Eastern United States.
- Experience implementing emerging GIS solutions, managing GIS infrastructure, and workflow automation using Python, GeoAI, or Arcade.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. Salary range for this position is $82,400 – $123,600, with adjustments for experience, education, and location.

The position offers a flexible hybrid work structure. Successful candidates will work remotely and from the office as needed, with periodic travel of approximately 10%.
