The Principal Engineer – Sourced Products plays a critical role in driving product quality for the Global Specialty Products (GSP) Air and Smart Home Solutions teams. This position leads initiatives that improve customer ownership experience, resolve field quality issues, and elevate product reliability across Window Air Conditioners, Portable Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers, and Smart Home Solutions. You will guide quality strategy, oversee key Cost of Quality metrics, and partner closely with internal teams and suppliers worldwide to enhance performance throughout the product lifecycle.

How You'll Create PossibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the quality improvement strategy for the GSP Air and Smart Home Solutions teams, coordinating efforts with suppliers and cross-functional teams across global locations
- Identify key drivers of Cost of Quality metrics (warranty, retail product returns, damage, concessions, customer education and installation) and lead improvement projects
- Lead the product quality value stream for New Product Implementation (NPI) programs to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals
- Build proactive quality initiatives using robust reliability test plans and continuously strengthen product testing programs for GSP Air and Smart Home Solutions suppliers
- Collaborate with Customer Relations teams and Field Technicians to quickly resolve issues and elevate the overall ownership experience
- Partner with teams and third-party resources to rework defective products, lead inspections, and ensure adherence to deviation procedures
- Work with Distribution and Product Damage teams to identify contributors to product damage and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Engage directly with suppliers and sub-tier suppliers to identify root causes, implement containment, and deliver long-term corrective actions
- Support the development of strong manufacturing control plans with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve process control, auditing, and product testing
- Collaborate with product delivery and installation teams to strengthen the ownership experience and address recurring field installation issues
- Develop and enhance Return to Vendor (RTV) customer satisfaction metrics and tracking across multiple retail partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering or Technical (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) degree or equivalent technical experience
- 7 years of work experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Engineering Technology, or Operations in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in process development and problem solving through quality control tools (FMEA, control plan, process map, etc.)
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change
- Ability to travel 20% domestically and internationally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects concurrently in a team environment
- Self-starter who takes initiative to identify and implement improvements
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop, manage, and execute aggressive project plans globally and domestically
- Experience working with Air Conditioning products in a technical, manufacturing, or quality role
- Experience collaborating with customer relations teams and field service technicians
- Lean experience or Six Sigma certification
