Senior Electrical Engineer

With four offices across North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, we specialize in senior living, education, healthcare, and government facility design nationwide.
Our Louisville office is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, has 12+ years of commercial and residential building design experience, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) registered in multiple states. The role requires proficiency with the National Electrical Code, NFPA, IBC codes, and strong experience in designing electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems.
Responsibilities- Meet with architects and team members to determine appropriate electrical systems, location of electrical elements, and preliminary cost estimates.
- Perform field work to assess existing components for re‑use and retrofitting.
- Coordinate systems with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines during design and production drawings.
- Create contract documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit, preparing schematic design packages.
- Develop technical construction specifications to support project design and drawings.
- Prepare design development and construction documents, coordinating with the engineering team.
- Mentor less experienced engineering and architectural staff.
- Assist in electrical construction administration, including shop drawing review, site visits, cost proposal evaluations, and field liaison.
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills while managing multiple projects in various phases simultaneously.
- Demonstrate excellent client interface capabilities and organizational skills.
- Show enthusiasm for continuous learning and skill development.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 12+ years of experience in commercial and residential building electrical design.
- Licensed P.E., with ability to be registered in multiple states.
- In‑depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA, IBC, and related building codes.
- Experience with analysis, layout, and design of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for schematic and construction documents.
- Strong written communication and client‑service skills.
