Join our Front Load Laundry team as a Principal Flow Engineer, where you’ll shape the strategy and execution of a major New Product Introduction (NPI) and new facility launch. In this highly influential role, you’ll lead material flow innovation—optimizing space, equipment, automation, and conveyance systems to enable world‑class manufacturing performance.

You’ll partner across manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams to design the next generation of lean material flow, inbound warehousing, and automation systems that power GE Appliances’ growth and operational excellence.

How You'll Create Possibilities
  • Lead strategic design of advanced material replenishment and warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Drive automation and innovation by researching and integrating emerging technologies such as robotics and drones.

  • Develop and optimize lean material flow processes and systems to improve productivity and safety.

  • Manage outsourced and 3PL resources to implement world‑class material flow practices across multiple sites.

  • Evaluate and streamline material handling processes before automation implementation.

  • Analyze cost drivers and recommend solutions that maximize total cost efficiency.

  • Develop and validate automation projects from concept through launch.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to meet project milestones, budgets, and performance targets.

  • Ensure compliance with EHS, Lean Manufacturing, Ergonomics, Packaging, and TPM standards.

  • Partner cross‑functionally to align material flow with manufacturing and business initiatives.

  • Coach and mentor professionals and teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and lean excellence.

  • Influence policies and strategy that shape how materials flow through our factories of the future.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline

  • 7+ years of firsthand experience with distribution, logistics, or supply chain, including experience in Lean Supply Chain production method.

  • Strong computer knowledge, including Robotic Languages, ACAD (Advanced Computer-Aided Design), and MS Office

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse operations.

  • Excellent project tracking and detailed planning skills required.

  • Ability to work in large cross‑functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members)

  • Good oral and written communication skills – will be expected to provide status report outs to the cross‑functional team and train other engineers.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of cross‑functional program deliverables and ability to drive decisions based on the overall benefit to the company.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred.

  • Highly creative talent with a proven ability to look past what is currently done and develop a practical, implementable vision for the future and a strong history of executing to vision.

  • Prior experience working in a high SKU and high velocity manufacturing operations.

  • Simulation experience is preferred.
