Job DescriptionJoin a leading company specializing in friction welding and resistance welding solutions. As a Controls Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a fourth‑generation, privately held company that has evolved into a global leader in its field. This position offers a chance to collaborate with a team of experts and expand your technical knowledge in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Applications Engineers, Fluid Systems Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers to develop machine control system solutions for friction welding machines.
- Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and ePLAN, along with Bills of Material documentation.
- Conduct machine commissioning and ensure smooth operation.
- Interpret controls systems requirements from various project scope documents.
- Implement ANSI and ISO machine design and safety standards.
- Develop machine sequence and control flow charts.
- Design Human Machine Interface programs for machine controls using Siemens products.
- Enhance understanding of machinery, machine controls, programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, and their control software.
- Minimum of 2 years of controls engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Siemens PLCs and willingness to learn more about Siemens technologies.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Customer‑facing experience.
- Design skills using AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, and ePLAN.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or ePLAN is beneficial.
This position is based onsite at headquarters in South Bend, IN, working a 1st shift from 8 AM to 5 PM, five days a week. The role involves minimal overtime and requires domestic and international travel approximately twice a year.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $36.06 - $48.08/hr.
