With offices in North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania, we specialize in the design of senior living, education, healthcare and government facilities nationwide. Our Louisville office is currently seeking a successful candidate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, an emphasis on HVAC systems and building project design, and a P.E. registration that can be active in multiple states.
Key qualifications include a solid background in HVAC systems design coursework, a minimum of 8+ years of experience in commercial and residential building design, and knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA, and IBC codes. Experience with the analysis and layout of HVAC systems, hydronic piping, air distribution, and HVAC products and materials is required.
Responsibilities- Meet with architects and other team members to determine appropriate HVAC systems, location of HVAC elements, and preliminary cost estimates.
- Perform field work to determine design direction, including evaluation of existing HVAC components for re‑use and retrofit.
- Coordinate systems during design and production drawings with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare contract documents using the latest version of Revit.
- Develop technical construction specifications to support project design and drawings.
- Prepare design development and construction documents, coordinating with the engineering team.
- Oversee and mentor less experienced engineering and architectural team members.
- Assist in HVAC construction administration of the project, including shop drawing review, site visits, cost proposal evaluations, and responses to field questions.
- Maintain strong written and communication skills, ability to multitask across simultaneous project assignments at different phases.
- Demonstrate excellent client interface capabilities and organizational skills.
- Show enthusiasm and eagerness for continued education and skill development.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on HVAC systems and project design.
- P.E. registration with the ability to register in multiple states.
