Electrical Engineer - Sustaining
** Packsize is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the R&D Hardware team in Louisville, KY.  We are looking for someone who has an interest in mechatronics and industrial machine automation.  You will be primarily responsible for sustaining the electrical system(s) for highly automated industrial machines.
You will also be doing small electrical design projects and providing input on the mechanical design and PLCs.  You will be collaborating with other engineers, product managers, product quality etc. in creating, building and sustaining reliable, on-demand packaging systems.  We want you to come in and ask well thought out questions, carry out solid fundamental engineering, do independent research and collaborate effectively with your peers.

We have many R&D and product sustaining projects going on and look forward to new ideas and diverse, creative thinking to help solve difficult problems.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience Low voltage DC and high voltage AC experience and qualifications

Experience with Eplan Ability to solder and wire up test systems Knowledge of PLC’s and industrial automation technologies Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating in team environments while maintaining individual duties effectively Ability to prototype and 3D print simple designs and assemble systems to test automation strategies Work with the team to organize, clean and maintain R&D test area (5S) Ability to do the physical work necessary to fabricate prototypes (using machine shop tools, turning wrenches etc.)
