GE Appliances is seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer – Plastics to support and strengthen our global supplier network. This role is responsible for owning supplier quality performance across a portfolio of plastic suppliers, with a strong focus on reducing Cost of Quality (COQ), driving continuous improvement, and enabling successful new product introductions. The role partners closely with sourcing, manufacturing, and technology teams to identify root causes, implement sustainable corrective actions, and improve supplier capability over the full product lifecycle.

How You’ll Create PossibilitiesKey Responsibilities Supplier Quality & Relationship Management
- Own all aspects of supplier quality performance impacting Cost of Quality (COQ) for assigned plastic suppliers
- Lead supplier qualification, ongoing quality engineering, continuous improvement, and issue resolution activities
- Champion the use of quality tools and the Supplier Composite Scorecard to improve supplier performance
- Develop and implement robust control plans and sustainable corrective actions
- Develop and apply deep technical expertise in plastic injection molding and secondary operations such as pad printing, hot stamping, and plastic welding
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams to improve process capability and product quality
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for NPI programs
- Collaborate with Technology to resolve NPI-related quality issues
- Manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements
- Influence sourcing and design decisions through early supplier engagement and supplier selection
- Conduct business and technical audits to assess supplier capability and risk
- Provide recommendations for strategic and tactical supplier development
- Qualify alternate sources to mitigate risk and expand the supplier base for NPI programs
- Lead projects related to supplier moves, process changes, and material changes through the GE Appliances Change Control Process
- Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities across the supplier base, including quality improvements, Variable Cost Productivity (VCP), and material usage
- Apply Lean manufacturing concepts to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiency at supplier locations
- Partner cross‑functionally with Technology, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to implement continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Quality, or a technical role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with plastic injection molding and value‑add processes for plastic components
- Strong working knowledge of statistical tools for product and process development and control, including Gage R&R, Process Capability, Control Plans, SPC, PFMEA, and DOE
