Personal Financial Counselor - National Guard, Louisville, KY

This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families. Services encompass education and counseling sessions, briefings, presentations, and referral resources, while working closely with installation and branch points of contact to ensure program alignment and scope.

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes, and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics such as installation arrival, deployment, and career events.
• Responds to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Uses virtual counseling or secure electronic communication modes as authorized.
• Manages duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues.
• Participates in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree with 4 years’ experience or high school diploma with 6 years’ experience may be considered).
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual English and Spanish may be required.
• Adverse Tier 2 security investigation clearance.
• Passes Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Certification:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
