The Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting on their hair care needs, and recommending products and services. The Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) with a focus on performance, people, and process.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales goals ($800 average weekly sales) and productivity targets for hair services while contributing to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store, well‑rounded guest experience.
• Build professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster collaborative service delivery.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Know and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; ensure compliance with state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM, ensuring guest readiness.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards across all areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets by following loss‑prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for hair services and makeup, and aptitude to develop skills in all service categories.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and grow clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects.
