Responsibilities
The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist responsibilities include the development and implementation of Pharmacy Services’ information systems and tools that are applied to all aspects of the medication management process. Works closely with Epic Willow analysts, pharmacy staff and other clinicians across all hospital / healthcare departments to optimize effective use of systems, including Epic. Coordinates analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics / performance metrics.
Implements, maintains and optimizes systems and applications to support various functions, and especially those pertaining to the medication-use process across the enterprise, including inventory databases, unit-based cabinets and IV smart pumps and related software. May provide customer service, troubleshooting and maintenance. The incumbent will have highly in-depth knowledge of pharmacy practice as well as knowledge of controlled terminology, clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, rules development, data integration and mining, clinical ontologies and adoption of technology.
* Preference for experience in Health System Pharmacy.
Required:
- One (1) year experience working in pharmacy as a practicing pharmacist
- Doctorate Degree, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) degree. - ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program or equivalent practice experience
- Registered Pharmacist (RPh, KY) or eligible for licensing on hire
- Epic Medical within 120 days
Desired:
- Three (3) years experience in progressive pharmacy environment in informatics role
- ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) Pharmacy Informatics, Specialty Residency Program or equivalent informatics practice experience
