Accounts Receivable Representative II
Location: 300
E. Market St. Louisville, KY 40202
Shift: First Shift (United States of America)
Shift Length: 8 hours
# Shifts / Week: 4.30

- Support UofL Physicians Central Business Office (CBO) with financial, clerical, and administrative duties.
- Research and follow up on specialty or payor-specific denials; appeal denials as needed.
- Perform charge corrections and authorization/referral denial appeals.
- Research and educate staff on changes to payor programs.
- Support special projects as required.
- Monitor and execute work within Epic Work Queues.
- Research and resolve claim denials or rejections based on work team assignment.
- Enter key claim details into various payor websites and upload medical records to resolve denials.
- Follow up with insurance companies for claims lacking response or those denied due to incorrect insurance info or authorizations.
- Update charges and refile electronic or paper claims as needed; follow up on calls or emails from Patient Financial Specialists concerning patients requesting assistance with accounts.
- Inform management and relevant stakeholders regarding correspondence and communication problems with service locations.
- Ability to get along with others in a close office setting.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods.
- Willingness to function and cooperate as a team member.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 3 years related experience (required)
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Proficient with data entry and multitasking in a Windows environment
- Desired experience with Microsoft Office Software (preferred)
- Ability to meet productivity and quality standards
- Ability to communicate verbally/written with professionalism
- No license requirements
- No certification requirements Job Competency
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
- Working Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
- Ability to read, interpret and/or follow up on an explanation of benefits denial and understand medical terminology
- General knowledge of healthcare payors and government agencies
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Proficient with data entry and multitasking in a Windows environment
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with professionalism
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Able to critically think through the process of claims.
- Able to determine next steps for claims resolution.
- Strong keyboarding with data entry efficiency.
- Knowledge of Epic Billing preferred.
