Summary Job Description

Baptist Health is looking for a Retail Staff Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at Baptist Health Louisville!

• Assists the manager with oversight of pharmacy operations and personnel.
• Supports the orientation, training, and development of community pharmacy staff.
• Ensures compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B program (if applicable), accrediting bodies, REMS compliance, third‑party payers (including audits), and state and federal regulations.
• Ensures timely completion of all claim and invoice reconciliation as needed by the Community Pharmacy Manager.
• Ensures adequate control and documentation of controlled substance ordering, receiving, inventory management, and dispensing in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Maintains compliance with immunization protocols and ensures all staff have current training, including BLS CPR certification.
• Ensures the integrity of medications by assuring storage under proper conditions (e.g., refrigeration) and security.
• Monitors drug shortages and implements solutions to avoid therapy delays.
• Supports the development and implementation of strategies to eliminate or minimize medication errors.
• Reports Good Catches, Adverse Drug Events, and Medication/Fluid errors.
• Coordinates safe transitions of care from the hospital with patients, caregivers, other institutions, providers, and pharmacies.
• Ensures prompt and friendly service, prioritizing the patient's well‑being in all functions and duties.
• Performs responsibilities of Community Pharmacy Manager during their absence.

• Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Community Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Must obtain Immunization certification within 6 months.
