- Title: Ophthalmic Technician

- Location: Louisville, KY
- Travel: Regular travel to offices within 1 hour of Louisville; mileage reimbursed when using personal vehicle.

- No prior medical/eyecare experience required – training provided.
- Full‑time, Monday–Friday 6:30 am – 5:30 pm. Early or late shift may be required as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Favorable background check result
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excitement to learn and grow
- Facilitate patient flow and scheduling.
- Assistance to the doctor in preliminary testing.
- Verify medical and vision insurances.
- Effective communication with patients, doctors, and managers.
- Answer inquiries via phone, email, and in‑person.
- Maintain patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Perform eye examinations: dilation, refraction, IOP, visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto‑refractor, and topography.
- Follow all company policies, including HIPAA.
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as directed.
- Desire to gain industry knowledge and training.
- Initiative to accomplish practice goals.
- Adaptability and acceptance of change.
- Team‑oriented and patient‑focused work ethic.
- Professional interaction with all levels of staff.
- Commitment to work over 40 hours when required.
- Reliable transportation for multiple locations.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred but not required.
- Phase includes frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent visual and auditory acuity.
