Responsibilities
The role of the Child Life Therapist is to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate psychosocial needs of patients and families for those aged neonatal to 17 years (Neonates, Pediatric, Adolescent). The Child Life Therapist provides psychosocial support, plans, and coordinates activities to promote the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of the child within inpatient and outpatient settings, utilizing age-appropriate principles of growth and development.
They act as advocates for patients and families and perform other related duties.
Norton Children’s stands for high-quality pediatric care across various specialties and locations throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. It includes two hospitals, a medical center, regional outpatient centers, and primary and specialty care practices. The network serves over 200,000 patients and sees more than 1 million patient visits annually.
Work Schedule: This position involves 4 ten-hour shifts, including Sundays.

Qualifications
Required:
- Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Education, or a related health field
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential or eligibility to sit for the exam. Must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
Desired:
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting
