Job Description:
Position Summary and Purpose The Lead Interventional Technologist prepares and assists in performing invasive imaging procedures of a highly technical nature under the direct supervision of a Radiologist/Cardiologist. They will provide care for patients, including adults and geriatrics, based upon defined standards of patient care.
Essential Functions:
- Operates digital radiographic imaging equipment following state and department radiation safety measures demonstrating proficiency and skill
- Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols
- Maintains responsibility for call shifts/duties, as scheduled
- Encourages patient and family to participate in healthcare decisions and teaching
- Accurately screens patients following department screening form and notifies Physician or RN if patient has history of contrast allergy or if one occurs, IV infiltration, positive pregnancy status, or any abnormal findings
- Assumes personal responsibility for maintaining professional development, credentials, certifications, licensure, and continuing education
- Monitors department productivity and supplies, communicates purchasing needs

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure and Certification)
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (required)
Experience:
- One year of recent hospital radiology experience (required)
- One year of procedural radiology (Cath lab/IR) experience (preferred)
Licensure:
- Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (required)
Certification:
- CI/RCIS or VI pathway must be completed within 18 months of hire (required)
