Be a part of the 152ndRunning of the Kentucky Derby & Kentucky Oaks by joining our team of experienced Concierges in the Luxury Dining Rooms at Churchill Downs. These spaces include The Mansion, Woodford Reserve Paddock Club, Spires Terrace & Suites, and Matt Winn’s. Two required training dates will prepare you to provide extraordinary service to our distinguished guests for both race days (May 1st and May 2nd, 2026).
Staff are expected to attend both training dates and both race dates. Applicants with background in hospitality and related industries, as well as those with horse racing knowledge, are encouraged to apply. This is a seasonal position.
Includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Greet & escort VIP guests from the gate to their dining location.
- Acquaint guests with their area and race day activations and serve as their point of contact throughout the race day.
- Assist your manager and fellow concierges with room tasks. This may include administrative tasks, stockroom checks, distributing materials to the team, operating welcome checkpoint stations around the property, and handling additional Sales & Ticket Operations tasks as required.
- Lead short tours around the property or escort guests to visit other areas, access-permitting.
- Relay guest feedback to Manager and fellow Concierges using protocols shared at training.
- Anticipate and efficiently handle customer service requests using the resources provided.
- Work with your Manager and Concierge team to troubleshoot customer service issues & tactfully offer approved solutions.
- Present yourself in a polished, courteous manner.
- Abide by the uniform policy & dress code.
- Exhibit discretion when handling guests’ personal information.

QUALIFICATIONS- Self-motivated problem solver and leader
- Detail-oriented with outstanding communication skills
- Adaptable, open to change, and willing to take direction
- Upbeat, cooperative, and motivates others
- Must showcase professionalism in verbal and non-verbal communication
- Speak clearly and loudly to be heard by a large group in moderately loud environments
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred but not required: college coursework, retail or hospitality experience, some equine industry knowledge or experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time to tour guests around the property
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
Must be available on the following:
At least one of these two dates:
- Saturday, March 28th, 2026 – Training #1 for Cohort 1 (Woodford Reserve Paddock Club & Spires Terrace)
- Saturday, April 11th, 2026 – Training #1 for Cohort 2 (The Mansion & Matt Winn’s)
And, all three of the below dates:
- Saturday, April 25th, 2026 – Training #2, All Concierges
- Friday, May 1st, 2026 – Kentucky Oaks
